For woody structures, I'd personally combine it with Cedramber and Amberwood to build the full accord.

"My experience with Ambroxide is limited, but enough to draw a clear comparison — and Timberlove stands noticeably above what I've worked with before.

The first thing that struck me was a distinct balsamic quality, something I hadn't encountered at this level in other amber molecules. At certain stages of development, it carries a subtle reminiscence of Evernyl — that dry, mossy-resinous character — yet the overall profile remains firmly within the Ambroxide family. It's a nuanced reference, but one that adds genuine complexity to the molecule's character.

Used at low dosage — between 1 and 5% — performance exceeded my expectations on every front. "I evaluated Timberlove against three competing versions of the same molecule — Ambrox Super (Firmenich), Ambrofix (Givaudan), and Ambroxid Crystal (Symrise) — all tested in 15% solution on smelling strips.

My relationship with this molecule started with Ambroxid Crystal, and that first batch set my olfactory reference for what Ambroxide should smell like: a dry, papery quality — clean and characteristic. I never found that same profile in the Firmenich version, which reads slightly mentholated to my nose, nor in the Givaudan, which leans noticeably sweeter. Timberlove brought it back. That dry, papery signature I had been looking for is there, and it's exactly where it should be.

On substantivity, after four days all three mouillettes were still clearly perceptible — so a definitive ranking on persistence would require more time. That said, Timberlove's stability on strip already reads as at least comparable, and likely superior, to the alternatives tested. One unexpected practical advantage worth noting: solubility in ethanol is excellent. Where some crystalline versions of CAS 6790-58-5 can be genuinely difficult to dissolve, Timberlove disperses rapidly and cleanly — a meaningful ergonomic advantage at the bench.

The crystal morphology also deserves mention: fine, homogeneous microcrystals, free of irregular granules or dusty residue, which makes precise dosing straightforward.
